Springtime!

This frog was hiding under the lavender. Then I saw him in the pond. Maybe he is the frog that makes lots of noise? Soon we will have tadpoles in the pond, and I'll try and get photos of them. Actually, this is probably an American Toad. They have a very distinctive sound! Listen to them here. |

This is a picture looking up at the cherry tree in bloom on the front sidewalk. Tomorrow the flowers will probably start falling off the tree and it will look like it is snowing as the white petals fly and fall in the breeze. |

These are 'carpet phlox' that bloom in the spring. They are very low to the ground and they look like a pink carpet when the flowers all bloom. |

We also have daffodills and grape hyacinths in the garden in the spring. What blooms at your house? May
This is a beautiful tree that I saw at the Arboretum.
Here is an oriole! I saw the first one on May 6. It is a male oriole. This photo was taken on a gray day. On a bright sunny day, I think their color looks more like a school bus yellow than an orange. This oriole has probably just returned from his winter home, in Mexico or Central America! That is a long journey. You can find a better picture and more info about orioles at the Massachusetts Audubon website June
Here is a woodpecker pecking at the tree in my backyard. He walks right up the tree trunk like spiderman!
These beautiful poppies bloomed in my garden. They are really interesting close up too!
